I think that personal response is why we continue to make stories, even when everything that can be said has been said before- just not by us. We bruise when our characters get hit because we believe in them.

Yes, that's it exactly. I'm sure that most people wouldn't call Remus names to his face, but there are plenty of other ways to remind someone that they are Other. Anyway, with Dumbledore, he patronizes everybody anyway, and leads them around with little child-sized blinders whenever possible. ;)

...the story withstands a third reading, is what I'm going to say. Um, thank you. I am fluttering, as always, since you know how to say the nicest things.
