You've captured many of my thoughts. I hate RTD. The Doctor feels so out of character here, because he's so desperate an angry, which usually he's so emo and self-sacrificing. It breaks my brain and makes me angry.
LOL Oh god I somehow horribly became RTD's target audience because it actually made me laugh? And I didn't really think about it because I was too busy thinking YAY DOCTOR WHO YAAAAY like a three year old?

Also, I'm living in the alt!universe where he was just kidding. Which is a fantastic universe also known as DenialLand because I can and because it's way happier here where Rose and the Doctor still have awesome adventures and have never split up but instead make out all the time and eat cake and have lots of intergalatic lolz over RTD's batshit plots and how the story is quickly going from interesting into WTF-Land which is never an awesome place to be because there's no Doctor/Rose or cake.
Soo I mean, now that I've gotten over my initial two year old reaction to seeing another Doctor Who clip like it's the best Halloween candy in my bag, I think that was a pretty lame immediate follow up to the most intense and serious episode of all time also known as the Waters of Mars. I mean, I kind of get where he was going with it like--we need to slow this crazy train shit down a little and lighten up but dude, you're kind of the one who put us on that train in the first place and gave us the ticket and was all JOIN THE PARTY, LOL. IT'S GONNA BE A ROCKIN TIME. So it's kind of late to pull the brake switch now dude.
Also my crazy train analogy totally went too far there but I feel it was justified in all this ridiculousness.
So what I'm trying to say is I think the entire thing was meant as a giant joke from the Doctor and he didn't actually do any of that but was trying to somehow psych himself into being how he used to be which was to crack jokes all the time and pretend like everything was fine when really on the inside he's freaking the fuck out and like collapsing the walls of reality by being a total selfish twat.
Oh god this show has made me just as crazy as Ten. That can't be a good thing.

The Ten/Rose part of me is all "BOO YOU WHORE" but the rest of me finds it hilarious. I think I will choose to believe that Ten had one too many banana daiquiris, and things went downhill from there. DUI in a TARDIS, can you imagine? I bet he always wanted to wear one of those neck ruffs.
