A very good cause indeed.

I am throwing my hat into some sort of ring over at the Help Haiti community and if you are so inclined, you can place a bid there to have me as your personal writer-for-hire. 1,000 words, give or take, of feel-good, "I donated to disaster relief" fic for you.

I looked at the community but couldn't tell. Do you know where the money goes? How does that work? I already donated to Oxfam for Haiti, but getting you to write some crack fic is TEMPTING. :D

From what I've gathered, each bidder makes a donation to one of the orgs on this list (there are more in the comments) and then provides the writer with a screenshot, scanned receipt or confirmation email (with private details covered up, I'd think.) I think it's kind of cool, because if there's a charity you regularly support (or one you specifically don't, for any reason) you get to choose where it's going.

LOL, crackfic. Oh nooo. *TEMPTS*

I spent like 40 minutes reading through what people offered after I saw [livejournal.com profile] crooked mention it this morning. I'm torn between bidding on something and offering up some kind of Northern Spain surprise package. I can't wait to see the final figures - even just browsing, it seems like there is a lot of interest and a respectable bit of money being thrown around! iiiiiiiiii LIKE it.

Yeah. I can't believe how much amazing stuff is on offer, seeing the final gift totals is going to be one of those "awwww fandom" moments of pure positivity.

Oooh Northern Spain Surprise ?
