Oh man, I love this AU. You've transposed the Doctor and Rose so well into this storyline. And I love that you haven't referred to him as the Doctor, because while he is the Doctor, he also isn't.
I'm incredibly impressed with how well you've incorporated the tragedy of the Doctor and Rose's romance into the plot as well--she can spend the rest of her life with him, but he can't spend the rest of his with her. Yet the way they seem to have accepted this fate and continue living is so...them. I loved the entire scene on the roof, because you get the sense that it's something they don't mention directly, but they're trying to let all the important things be said in whatever time they have left together. And oh gosh, though he doesn't show it, you can feel his anguish. Just thinking about what losing her will do to him is making me feel all teary-eyed T_T. I love when a fic can do that to me.
Random sidenote:I was listening to the Turin Brakes song New Star while reading this, and its melody at least seemed to fit well with the emotion of this chapter.
