This is totally excellent. I have never watched a single episode of Buffy or Angel or whatever this alludes to (though I am, of course, aware of their existence *rolls eyes*) - not because I am "anti" in any way, but just because I missed the first ninety-seven-odd seasons and thought I might be joining in a bit late if I decided to start watching it now. Though I LOVED Firefly and it's by the same chap, isn't it, so I might have to give it a whirl one of these days (doubtless if Joss Whedon is reading this, he'll be overjoyed to know that, I'm sure).
Ahem! Anyway, back to this. Missed Buffy references or not, your prose is utterly captivating. I do hope you're writing for profit and posterity somewhere else because if you're not, you should be - not just casting your pearls before swine on here (as it were). Nevertheless, as Chief Representative of the Swine, I'd like to implore you please to cast us a few more Pearls of this ilk at your earliest convenience. Brilliant stuff.
