It certainly reads like you remember being eleven - all of the details about learning about animals, about clothes, about the impatience and love that a kid can have for her family seem totally right. And this: She glances back over her shoulder, just before she goes through the door, and she thinks she sees Sherlock's hand reach for John's sleeve. John must have given him the lecture about traffic safety, too. John is so ridiculous. Too precious.
