No more shall I be/ loyal to my sorrowful country.

Even fucking JJ Abrams gets it- torture doesn't work. At best, it delivers faulty and coerced information. At worst, it kills; it punches a hole through the intelligence operations of our foreign agents; destroys the fabric of relationships between the CIA and informants; morally bankrupts us; breeds anti-USA and anti-democracy rhetoric; and turns our complex, highly trained intelligence operatives into a pack of thugs and bullies, complete with memories that will haunt them and scar their relationships for life. It is wrong. It is inefficient. It is filthy, dirty, horrible, and for fuck's sake- it doesn't work.
And eventually, we'll see where the new definitions of 'enemy combatant' take us. To librarians that submit anti-war books to a reading list ? To profesors who teach the truth ? To ministers who preach peace ?
I guess we'll see each other there, on that list.
