Useless, jacketless, I wander.
Thursday, August 30th, 2007 12:08 pmIn useless news about me, headed to a wedding this weekend. Again. Seems like everyone my husband knows either is getting married or has been married in the last year. And they've all been very proper church weddings with very proper receptions indoors to follow. And I always have to wear high-heels and shave my legs as if I were female or something, which makes me simultaneously grumpy and angry, and a little turned on. TMI Olympics, I'd like my gold now please.
My wedding, I love to point out to them (I am an ass, yeah, I know) was outside, with a lot of drunk barefoot heathens running around with the dog. I don't even think "laid-back" quite sums it up.
On the fannish side, I long for one of Rose Tyler's jackets. Long. Longingly. I'd pretty much steal candy from babies and chase cats for one. Particularly the strappy pink number from The Impossible Planet; though nearly any one would do. Does anyone have any resources as far as tracking down costuming information ? I've done a search myself and turned up nada. I realize some of the pieces have to be custom, but I'm betting more than a few of those things came from somewhere.
I'm going to treat it like a research project, though I will not sexually harass any librarians and drink in the stacks as I normally do. It'll be fall soon and I love sharp outerwear. I even lost some weight this year, and all my old coats look super dump-baggy on me.
Actually, if anyone has any hot tips on good jackets of any nature, I'd appreciate it.
