I read this story yesterday and loved it. I read it again today and loved it more. What a wonderful piece to run into--I've been a VM fan for a while but only really jumped into the fandom lately. You've got them spot on, and the tension and the chemistry that pops off the "page."
You do the scenario such justice, too, showing how even while apart there's always something between them that whispers that that they should be together, though it gives Duncan a little credit, which makes it all the more complicated and all the more heartbreaking.
