I'm hungry.

I want pizza.

This may/may not be related to the fact that I am eating sensibly right now, have been for a couple of weeks, as I try to make general improvements to my health. I'm not on a diet, I'm just trying to get myself in the groove of good habits so I don't have to stress it so much. But there's a tiny angry voice inside me screaming COME ON, PIZZA IS LIKE A SUPERFOOD YOU STINGY ASSHOLE.

And I can't seem to finish a single fic. I've got three more like five started right now and all of them are staring at me like OH YEAH? and I am like OH NO. Cowardly. I keep backing down and curling up on the couch with my "creatively" subtitled dvds of Nobuta wo Produce again instead, because they demand nothing from me except my love, and my commitment to sparkle motion. I'm being a whiner but at least I anticipate that I'll snap out of it soon. Laundry and housecleaning will help: they scrub the metaphorical cobwebs and mustard stains out of my brain.

So, how are you? What are your summer plans? Anything good on tv that I should be watching, now that A2A is done and DW is ending soon and Seeker, don't talk to me about Seeker?

I've got the same fic problem. Too many fics to finish rapidly enters this awful paradox territory where working on any one of them just makes you feel guilty about all the others so you're stuck. Or maybe that's just me?

My summer plans are to get a better job than being a chashier, or at least be a cashier somewhere else than I currently am now, because I am bored as hell.

Try watching the Venture Brothers? I'm doing that now. It's pretty cute.

Yessss fic paradox. Good term. I don't know what to focus on and what to just drop. I have too many ideas, starts of ideas, and if I don't have time to sit down with it and hammer out the basic thing in one sitting, by the time I come back to it I'm like "..." But oh well, I'm going to get something done and see if that helps end the slump.

Yay, good luck! Job searching is hard, my bff is doing that right now. But it's oh so worth it when you move up to something more engaging. :)

You're the second person to recommend that to me, so it's about time I gave it a look.

I was on a roll with the sensible eating for like three and a half weeks: eating less meat and starches and eating more fruit and veggies! Then my monthly came close, and I started with a WHOLE BIG BAG OF SOUR CREAM AND ONION POTATO CHIPS! Then pizza. Then burgers with fries, then chinese food, then I made fried chicken livers and mac n cheese. Then more pizza! ARGGG! So, today I'm trying to get back on track. I made a healthy soup with chickpeas and swiss chard (and ham!). Anyhoo, the ongoing effort is what counts, and I really have been eating better all in all, so sue me! Good luck to you too, and if you give in to the angry voice calling you an A-hole, it doesn't mean you can't keep trying the next day!

My summer plan involves getting rid of lots and lots of stuff, so that I can more easily clean the rest of our stuff. My husband and child don't like getting rid of stuff, so it will be hard, but I will prevail!

I recommend watching Leverage, which should be starting up soon.

Aw. You're right, though, it's important not to get discouraged even when you go off the rails. Everyone is going to do it (and it's totally natural- they've done studies showing that people who let themselves enjoy their favorite foods in moderation are healthier than people who always deny themselves. That seems like a no-brainer, because stress is bad for you.) I may get myself a slice of pizza for lunch tomorrow, just to keep the happy feelings hanging around. :)

OMG SOUR CREAM AND ONION MMMMMMFFFF. Best flavor ever.

And good luck getting rid of things. I'm encouraging my mom to do that too, because she has waaaay too much stuff for their very small house. I did a yard sale not too long ago and got rid of two garbage bags' worth of clothes and knick-knacks and stuff, it felt awesome.

Leverage, hmm, I'll check it out! Mr. Orange was watching Hustle, which I think was the original UK version. I enjoyed that, so I wouldn't mind trying this.

I second the Leverage recommendation. *nod* There's even subtle Doctor Who references occasionally, which is fun.

I just ordered pizza. I shouldn't have, but my head hurts and I just do not feel like cooking. Even a frozen dinner. Of course, I almost never do feel like cooking. :-)

Supernatural is on hiatus so I'm pretty much keeping my sanity together with fandom. Though the [livejournal.com profile] spn_j2_bigbang starts soon and I'm very excited for that. 300 gajillion fics all over 20,000 words starring my favorite people in the world! YAY!

Been frantically searching LJ for good Sam/Callen NCIS: LA fic but alas! after so many years with the same fandom, I've forgotten how to do this! Also, I was horrified (and slightly amused) to learn that the fandom name for Sam/Callen is salmon. I... just don't even really know what to do with that.

Also, I currently have four fandoms I'm interested in with characters that are named Sam. No, really.

Sam Tyler of Life on Mars
Sam Carter of Stargate SG-1
Sam Hannah of NCIS: LA
Sam Winchester of Supernatural

HOW DOES THIS HAPPEN? WHY DO FANDOMS WITH SAMS IN THEM ATTRACT ME SO? WHYYYYYYY

*rambles at you*

I BELIEVE IN YOU AND YOUR FICS.

I think the new season of Warehouse 13 should be starting soonish; if you haven't seen the first season, it shouldn't be too hard to catch up. Very light, cute sci fi show. Kind of textbook, but not so much so that it's unoriginal.

And if you've never seen Wonderfalls, I recommend that as well. One thirteen-episode season of perfection.

I woke up late this morning and had some cold pizza for breakfast. It's not sitting very agreeably with me right now... urgh.

Nobuta wo Produce ♥! I went on an Asian drama/Johnny's binge last summer, and it was absolutely glorious. *eyes innocuous-looking Coffee Prince box set*

I have absolute faith in your amazing writing prowess! :)

*g* The thing with being southern Chinese is that families (or at least the ones I know) do tend to be quite obsessive about eating "properly" - having a proper mix of greens and starches, not too much protein or fried foods, etc. - the stuff that primary schools teach in Physical Education/Development. Yin-Yang balance is woven into common consciousness about food. I think it's partly because China is still such a predominantly agricultural country, and fresh produce is cheap.

But everything in moderation, is my motto. I've always eaten what I liked, just in sensible portions. :)

TRU BLOOD!!!!

Since no one else has done it yet, I have to recommend The Vampire Diaries. I started watching it just for the lolz, and got them since the pilot was very cheesy, but the show kept getting progressively more awesome until it was soon my favorite thing on TV. It's fast-paced, its heroine is not an idiot (*cough*Twilight*cough*), and its reveals rock. As an added bonus, Ian Somerhalder is very pretty. ;)

ETA: The mention of Wonderfalls made me think of Lee Pace, which made me think of Pushing Daisies. If you haven't seen it, it's wonderful. <3

Mmmmm, pizza. Also, Nobuta wo Produce! Such a great drama.

I think Leverage is starting again in a couple of weeks. I can't remember if you've mentioned watching it, but if not, it is awesome.

So, how are you? What are your summer plans?

Well, I’m still looking for work. Oh, and I’m making this blouse (the pink one, only I’m not making it out of pink fabric):

New Look 6894

Unfortunately, I’m not really watching television at the moment. I’m going through a little bit of a fannish dry spell. But I’m pretty sure I’ll still read anything you write.
