I'm hungry.

I want pizza.

This may/may not be related to the fact that I am eating sensibly right now, have been for a couple of weeks, as I try to make general improvements to my health. I'm not on a diet, I'm just trying to get myself in the groove of good habits so I don't have to stress it so much. But there's a tiny angry voice inside me screaming COME ON, PIZZA IS LIKE A SUPERFOOD YOU STINGY ASSHOLE.

And I can't seem to finish a single fic. I've got three more like five started right now and all of them are staring at me like OH YEAH? and I am like OH NO. Cowardly. I keep backing down and curling up on the couch with my "creatively" subtitled dvds of Nobuta wo Produce again instead, because they demand nothing from me except my love, and my commitment to sparkle motion. I'm being a whiner but at least I anticipate that I'll snap out of it soon. Laundry and housecleaning will help: they scrub the metaphorical cobwebs and mustard stains out of my brain.

So, how are you? What are your summer plans? Anything good on tv that I should be watching, now that A2A is done and DW is ending soon and Seeker, don't talk to me about Seeker?

I was on a roll with the sensible eating for like three and a half weeks: eating less meat and starches and eating more fruit and veggies! Then my monthly came close, and I started with a WHOLE BIG BAG OF SOUR CREAM AND ONION POTATO CHIPS! Then pizza. Then burgers with fries, then chinese food, then I made fried chicken livers and mac n cheese. Then more pizza! ARGGG! So, today I'm trying to get back on track. I made a healthy soup with chickpeas and swiss chard (and ham!). Anyhoo, the ongoing effort is what counts, and I really have been eating better all in all, so sue me! Good luck to you too, and if you give in to the angry voice calling you an A-hole, it doesn't mean you can't keep trying the next day!

My summer plan involves getting rid of lots and lots of stuff, so that I can more easily clean the rest of our stuff. My husband and child don't like getting rid of stuff, so it will be hard, but I will prevail!

I recommend watching Leverage, which should be starting up soon.

Aw. You're right, though, it's important not to get discouraged even when you go off the rails. Everyone is going to do it (and it's totally natural- they've done studies showing that people who let themselves enjoy their favorite foods in moderation are healthier than people who always deny themselves. That seems like a no-brainer, because stress is bad for you.) I may get myself a slice of pizza for lunch tomorrow, just to keep the happy feelings hanging around. :)

OMG SOUR CREAM AND ONION MMMMMMFFFF. Best flavor ever.

And good luck getting rid of things. I'm encouraging my mom to do that too, because she has waaaay too much stuff for their very small house. I did a yard sale not too long ago and got rid of two garbage bags' worth of clothes and knick-knacks and stuff, it felt awesome.

Leverage, hmm, I'll check it out! Mr. Orange was watching Hustle, which I think was the original UK version. I enjoyed that, so I wouldn't mind trying this.

I second the Leverage recommendation. *nod* There's even subtle Doctor Who references occasionally, which is fun.
